Lagos was the capital of the Algarve from 1578 until 1756 leaving a legacy of stunning
Churches and winding streets, not to mention the original city walls and harbour. A more
recent additions is the town's stunning modern marina where the rich and famous keep
their yachts for those summer adventures and local fishermen cast off to catch sardines
and other local fish which can be sampled in Lagos' many fantastic restaurants. Lagos is
also home to many shops and boutiques which you'll take at least a day to get through.
The Western Algarve is famous for it's clean air, traditional food and wine, and
historic beauty spots but of course, it's most popular attractions are it's huge range
exploring the rugged West Coast's secret coves either by boat trip or by car and
making the most of the Atlantic's rolling surf, we're sure you will find these beaches
the most beautiful in the Algarve.
The old fish market has been restored in traditional fashion but now includes
all modern hygiene standards and provides high quality fresh fish ,fruit &veg
,and meat along with the home made piri piri .sweets &Almond cakes
Lagos has a myriad of cafés and restaurants spilling onto the street giving you a fantastic night life with street theater and being entertained by busker's while dining on the open terraces.
